We have positions available at the BU Student Union Office and we welcome you to join us for a great student government experience! 

The following positions are term positions ending April 30, 2018:

1. Vice President External: The Vice President External is a part-time employee member of council, and as such receives an approximate annual salary of $17,800.00 (based on 25 work hours per week – but can work up to 30 hours a week). The Vice President Externals’ main responsibilities include but are not limited to: Overseeing all BUSU internal communications, including , but not limited to, electronic communications and newsletters, Serving as a liaison between BUSU and student groups, Overseeing services specific to students groups and councils, Overseeing the Union’s events and activities and ensuring they cater to the academic, cultural and social interests of the Members of the Union, Overseeing the promotion of Union events within the University and off campus.  

2. BUSU Director positions: Education, Graduate Studies, Part Time & Mature Students, Racialized, Sexuality & Gender -Identity Based, and Science.
Directors act as a liaison between BUSU and the students who they represent (their constituencies). This position involves attending faculty or constituency-specific group meetings, in addition to meetings of the BUSU Board and sub-committees. Directors also assist with various BUSU events, activities, campaigns, and projects. Depending on how much work has been performed, Directors earn tuition rebate per semester: 15 work hours is equivalent to 1 credit hour of tuition rebate.

3. Senator Positions: Arts, Science, Education, Health Studies, Music, (2) Student-At-Large. Senators’ main responsibilities include attending monthly faculty meetings, Student Senate Caucus meetings, and monthly Senate meetings. This position is volunteer based but serves as great academic and board experience.

4. Board Positions: 
KDC Student at Large: 2 positions available - required to attend monthly KDC board meetings relating to matters of the KDC, Knowles Douglas Centre student union building.
